So I always headcanoned that Jon got his first grey hair at 8 when he had the Mr Spider encounter and the silvery hairs were actually subtle marks of the Web that led him to the institute. I was a little disappointed it didn’t come out as canon but I still think that’s what it was.

i mean it totally makes sense, there had to have been a physical mark from the mr. spider encounter since the whole point of it was so the web could make jon out to be an ideal candidate to jonah when choosing the next archivist (though i can see the argument that the web’s mark would be the only one that doesn’t have a physical, visual mark since they’re all about subtlety, but i love the image of a young jon with a small web of grey hairs hidden and tucked away)
